As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for a variety of important tasks, including:
Operating MRI Scanners: Capture high-quality diagnostic images using MRI scanners, following established protocols and physician directives. Ensuring Patient Safety: Adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure patients are properly screened for contraindications, and are prepared for the MRI procedure. Patient Positioning: Properly position patients and select appropriate imaging parameters to optimise image quality and ensure accurate diagnostic information. Administering Contrast Agents: Under the direction of a physician, administer contrast agents as required for enhanced imaging. Monitoring Patient Comfort and Safety: Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and cooperation. Evaluating Images: Evaluate MRI images for quality and clarity, communicating any findings to the interpreting radiologist. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including all procedure details and diagnostic findings. Collaborating with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other professionals to provide optimal patient care. Maintaining MRI Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues with MRI equipment. Ensuring Infection Control: Adhere to safety protocols to minimise risks associated with radiation exposure and hazardous materials. Requirements of the MRI Technologist:
