Utilize safe transfer techniques and appropriate body mechanics to ensure safety for both the patient and self. 7. **Unit-Specific Knowledge:** Demonstrate expertise in the care of surgical patients, including knowledge of relevant conditions, procedures, and equipment to ensure individualized patient care throughout the continuum. 8. **Responsibility and Accountability:** Prioritize patient care based on individual needs and changes in condition, actively contributing to the perioperative team. 9. **Patient Education:** Assess patient and family understanding of surgical procedures and provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative education. 10. **Pre-Admission Testing (PAT):** Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate PAT orders for appropriateness based on surgery requirements and patient health status. **Qualifications:**- 1 year of nursing experience.
