The Laboratory Medicine Building maximizes operational efficiency, allowing the Laboratory Medicine team to provide test results faster and reduce the amount of blood needed from a patient to generate those results.

We are currently seeking an experienced

Lab

Technologist III

with experience in

Clinical Chemistry .

Role Overview: Lead Technologist with technical oversight of evening operations and instrumentation in a Clinical Chemistry laboratory. Perform technical duties in laboratory sections as assigned. Performs quality control review (daily, weekly, and/or monthly) Performs routine and advanced equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures. Performs special assignments, as directed (i.e. linearity, correlation, participates in test validation, etc.) Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files / databases. Create neat, accurate, well-formatted documents. Contribute to upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area. Manage the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulations Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned. Trains other technologists in the area(s) they oversee. Monitor Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Inspection Control practices to assure compliance with internal and external regulations. Ensure smooth workflow and demonstrate decision-making abilities in all aspects of performance in support of the Department.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required Current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required 6+ years of relevant clinical laboratory work experience required (4+ years required with a relevant Masters)

Additional Information: Shift: Full-Time Evening Shift; Monday to Friday, 3:30pm -11:30pm and 4pm to 12am; rotating weekends and holidays Location: CLM Reports to: Manager, Clinical Chemistry Pay Range:
