Substitute Food Service Worker - 2025 - 2026

Food Service Worker Employees in this classification may work at central kitchen production center or at an assigned school site. If assigned to a school site, this classification is responsible for keeping accurate records (number of students served, inventory of meal items and supplies, etc.) and preparing required reports for food services.

Requirements / Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience: Successful work experience in food services or related field preferred. Licenses or Certificates Needed: Substitute Positions - Food Service Certification is not required. Possession of a valid California Driver's License or Identification. Professional References Required 3 and must contain an email address.
Knowledge of: Proper methods for preparing, packaging and distribution of meals and food items. Basic food service equipment, utensils and appliances. Sanitation principles applicable to food safety. Food Services procedures, policies and rules. Effective oral and written communication skills. School and district policies, rules and regulations.
