BayMark Health Services is seeking a dedicated Substance Use Counselor to join our team, specializing in the support and treatment of individuals with opioid use disorder and other substance abuse issues. This role is pivotal in implementing effective counseling strategies that are tailored to the needs of each patient, facilitating both individual and group sessions, and contributing to the patient?s comprehensive treatment plan. This position requires a compassionate approach and a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical medical practices. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine the appropriate treatment plan. Provide individual and group counseling sessions to help patients address and overcome substance use disorders. Develop and implement treatment plans that incorporate medication-assisted treatment as appropriate. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, nurses, and support staff to enhance patient care. Document and maintain patient records with high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality. Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities. Engage families and support systems in the treatment process where suitable. Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules and regulations. Proficient in counseling techniques and methodologies relevant to substance abuse. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Knowledge of treatment modalities and plans including behavioral therapy and medication-assisted treatment.
