The Student Imaging Tech Aide duties include, but are not limited to the following: provide support to clinicians in the preparation, performance and post procedural work of providing patient care. Ensuring rooms are appropriately stocked and cleaned pre and post procedure, setting up supplies for procedures, ensuring adequate supply volume, monitoring telemetry, performing POC testing as required for imaging procedures, checking to ensure all images have crossed into PACS, assisting with positioning for imaging exams, placing MRI coils in preparation for procedures, transporting patients, greeting patients and assisting patients during the exiting processResponsibilities And Duties:100% Assist Technologists in performance of procedures.Greets and Exits Patients in alignment with OhioHealth values.Exhibits excellent communication to both clinicians and patients by: greeting patients, providing appropriate explanation within appropriate scope and elevates patient questions/concerns where appropriate.Provides effective hand-off to clinicians.Supports patient care and throughput by providing: directional assistance and patient transportation as needed either by wheelchair or cart.Department/Room Preparation: Routinely assesses par level of supplies and stocks departments(s) to ensure adequate supply level in the department(s) at all times. Supports department cleanliness by ensuring linens are available and ensures each roomis appropriately cleaned and prepared for patient care.Clinical Support: Provides telemetry support as needed. Performs POC testing as required for imaging procedures. Checks to ensure all images have crossed into PACS system as needed. Assists in positioning for imaging exams.Places MRI positioning MRI coils in preparation for MRI procedures. Routinely assesses patient need to ensure all patient needs/status changes are communicated in a professional and timely manner to the clinicianin charge and/or clinician with which they are working.Minimum Qualifications:High School or GED (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart AssociationAdditional Job Description:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School graduate or equivalent.BLS CertificationEnrolled in final year of an accredited medical imaging programSPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Strong and appropriate communication and organizational skills. Basic computer skills.
