Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 to 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Warrensville, Ohio. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable software applications using Java and Spring Boot to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that enhance user experience.
- Utilize AWS services to deploy and manage applications in a cloud environment ensuring high availability and performance.
- Write efficient SQL queries to interact with databases and optimize data retrieval processes.
- Implement front-end components using Angular JS and JavaScript to create responsive and dynamic user interfaces.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects ensuring timely delivery of solutions to maintain system stability.
- Participate in agile development processes contributing to sprint planning stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Ensure software security and compliance with industry standards by implementing necessary measures.
- Document technical specifications and system designs to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
- Mentor junior developers providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve software development practices.
- Contribute to the company's mission by delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Possess strong experience in AWS enabling efficient cloud-based application deployment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in SQL for effective database management and data manipulation.
- Exhibit expertise in Spring Boot and Java for developing robust backend systems.
- Have solid skills in Angular JS and JavaScript for creating interactive front-end applications.
- Show familiarity with mySQL for managing relational databases effectively.
- Display a collaborative mindset working well in a hybrid work model to achieve team goals.
- Bring 8 to 12 years of relevant software engineering experience to the role.
Certifications Required
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Oracle Certified Professional Java SE Programmer
Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $84,000 to $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
