Join the Centralized PRN Pool for an exciting opportunity to work across multiple MedStar Health Hospitals! Weekend coverage is required.
MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to become part of our PRN team. This role involves providing a range of speech-language pathology services, including but not limited to screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, and thorough documentation in various healthcare settings.
Primary Duties:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations, reviewing relevant historical information, performing detailed assessments, and determining treatment recommendations. Clearly communicate evaluation findings and treatment plans to patients and their families, actively involving them in the goal-setting process.
Implement treatment protocols with proficiency, based on evaluation findings and patient presentations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals when needed, promptly documenting any changes in patient conditions that may require a revised plan of care.
Oversee discharge planning and follow-up care, maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities that outline the patient's course of care, including initial evaluations, daily encounter notes, interim summaries, and discharge evaluations.
Exhibit effective time management skills while meeting productivity expectations. Manage your schedule efficiently and show a professional commitment to providing seamless patient access to care, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and empathy in all interactions.
Take the initiative in pursuing continuing education for professional development and organizational competency. Serve as a clinical instructor to students, and assist in the orientation and mentoring of new staff members, students, and volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY).
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, and/or additional licensure as required for specific locations (such as District of Columbia or Virginia).
American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence.
This position has a competitive hiring range of $55.00 per hour.
