Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software infrastructure design, designing big systems. 8 years of experience in software development. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role. Experience with distributed systems, cloud services, and infrastructure configuration.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization. Experience writing code in development languages (e.g., Python or Go).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Drive the long-term technical direction of Chrome developer infrastructure. Lead the team in building new features and improving the engineering quality of existing systems. Mentor engineers on the team to accelerate their development and our capacity to do great work. Build relationships across Chrome, Core, and Platform & Devices Engineering Infrastructure & Operations to develop an understanding of developer pain points and how we can address them. Set up software and processes to ensure efficient use of hardware and compute resources.
