As a Senior Security Engineer, you will: Assess the technical details and potential impacts of vulnerabilities throughout Amazon's infrastructure, services, and applications. Lead vulnerability detection and analysis by optimizing scanning, correlation, and prioritization capabilities. Investigate and triage vulnerabilities, determining their severity and potential implications for Amazon. Design and implement automation tools and workflows to optimize operational capabilities. Collaborate with software engineering and operations teams to improve vulnerability coverage and detection. Mentor junior security engineers, sharing expertise on vulnerability management best practices. Work alongside information security leadership to shape strategic direction and report on key performance metrics for the VMRO program. Participate in global on-call responsibilities to ensure continuous monitoring and vulnerability remediation. Requirements: BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; or 4+ years equivalent technology experience. 7 years of engineering experience focused on system, network, and application security or developing security products. 5 years of experience enhancing vulnerability detection accuracy across a diverse technical ecosystem. 5 years of experience with a deep understanding of vulnerabilities, exploits, and vulnerability management systems, particularly in cloud environments. 5 years of experience developing vulnerability assessment tools and tests using programming languages such as Python or Java. Preferred Qualifications: Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and system design. Experience across the full vulnerability management lifecycle. Knowledge and experience in developing exploits, as well as host-based and container-based detections. Familiarity with AWS services. This role is based in our office in Sydney, Australia.
