SUMMARY:Under general supervision, oversees, and participates in, the repair and maintenance of department irrigation systems. Provide direction to field crew members. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Oversees the Departments irrigation inventory.
Participates in the repair and maintenance of irrigation systems; sets irrigation schedules and programs; operates various types of equipment.
Assists in budget preparation.
Assists in irrigation development and design review, inspections and contractor support.
Performs winter maintenance to include ice rinks, trail grooming and snow removal.
Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Three years of experience in turf and irrigation systems maintenance, of which includes some supervisory experience
Or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess or ability to obtain a valid Wyoming/Idaho Drivers License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Water Assembly Tester Certification, or ability to obtain within one year.
Required Knowledge of:
Methods and techniques involved in irrigation system maintenance and repair.
County policies and procedures.
Proper use of power tools, hand tools and equipment.
Principles and practices of effective project management, leadership, supervision and training.
Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
Methods and techniques involved in landscaping and turf maintenance.
Required Skills in:
Operating various tools and equipment used in landscaping and irrigation maintenance.
Performing plumbing and electrical repairs.
Following written and verbal instructions.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Majority of work to be performed outdoors in various weather conditions; requires constant physical efforts and may be exposed to dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed including use of safety equipment.
