Description As a Senior Data Scientist at Medica, you will lead initiatives in predictive modeling, member segmentation, identification and stratification (ID/Strat), and program evaluation to support population health strategies and enterprise-level decision-making. You will also work with Git repositories and collaborate across teams to drive data governance and process improvements. Perform other duties as assigned. Key Accountabilities: Develop and validate predictive models using ensemble methods and deep learning techniques. Create and manage member segmentation models using clinical, behavioral, and demographic data to inform care strategies. Design and implement program evaluations (value studies) to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop data governance strategies and build robust data pipelines. Research and apply prescriptive solutions using data science and statistical methods to enhance program outcomes. Lead the production and governance of identification and stratification algorithms for population health. Score population health predictions and support program improvement initiatives. Partner with the data engineering team to manage and optimize the population health data pipeline.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in complex healthcare analytics projects, possess strong technical expertise in statistical modeling and data engineering, and exhibit strategic thinking and innovation. They will be comfortable influencing senior leadership and mentoring junior team members, while maintaining a high standard of documentation and presentation. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years experience in advanced analytics, statistics or data science. Preferably within healthcare.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications: Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline. Demonstrated leadership in healthcare-related projects. Advanced modeling techniques (e.g., ensemble methods, deep learning). Expertise in SQL, Python, R, SAS. Familiarity with code source control (Git, GitLab, GitHub). Experience with cloud platforms and data science IDEs (e.g., Jupyter Lab, Anaconda, Spyder). Strong data engineering and pipeline development skills.

Skills and Abilities: Strategic thinking and innovation. Strong documentation and presentation skills. Ability and desire to mentor junior team members. Comfortable working in a professional office environment.

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week. The full salary range for this position is $88,700 - $152,000. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
