We value technical proficiency, innovation, dedication and achievement as well as collaboration, both within our organization and in our client interactions.We're building our project team in Chicago , seeking a Senior Associate ArchitectOur work covers most commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, hotel/hospitality, and multi-family; focus on industrial and commercial (office, high rise multifamily) structure. A Senior Associate is a registered Professional Architect and is responsible for understanding all aspects of a project relative to its scope, technical accuracy, potential risk, and client requirements.Essential FunctionsAct as a technical team member and project lead; . Key functions include collaboration with the client, internal team, consultants and site contact; ultimately be responsible for an overall understanding of their project(s). Review and analyze building construction and condition. Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts and budgets. Perform building evaluations and construction monitoring. Forensic experience a plus. Preparation of detailed and well written formal reports. Build relationships and support business development efforts. Travel to site visits, local and regional.Qualifications, Skills And ExperienceBachelor's degree or higher in architecture or related field requiredMinimum 15 years' industry related experience at an architecture, engineering or construction companyRegistered as a ProfessionalTechnical level of understanding of building types in order to perform services of the organization with limited supervisionStrong understanding of construction processes, sequence, and activitiesConstruction administration experienceSolid understanding of building materials and methodsStrong technical skills in commercial construction a must, including regional code knowledgeAbility to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHigh-level organizational, time management, communication and collaboration skills.Knowledge of construction contract types and formsWorking knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) a plus. Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Box, knowledge of Plan Grid a plusStrong organizational skillsStrong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates leadership skills. Desire for potential growth in leadership and management is a plus.
