Title: Senior AI/ML Quality Engineer
Location: Onsite 3 days/week Deerfield, IL, Chicago (OPO), or Bellevue
Duration & Type: Initial 3-Month Contract with potential conversion to FTE (3090 days)
Compensation: Competitive W2 Hourly Rate ($56-$62), Access to Healthcare and Dental Insurance Plan of Choice. (Benefit Plans can be requested at time of submission to client)
Summary
Chamberlain Advisors is partnering with our client to identify a Senior AI/ML Quality Engineer to join a rapidly advancing machine learning team. This role focuses on designing, testing, and deploying high-quality automation solutions for AI/ML initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience validating artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, and web-based platforms that incorporate these technologies. As a QA leader within the team, youll play a critical role in ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability of machine learning-driven applications across the organization. What Youll Be Accountable For
Design and implement test automation solutions for AI/ML models and web-based applications.
Define test strategies, author test plans, and perform functional, exploratory, and performance testing.
Build AI-driven testing solutions such as smart test selection, failure diagnosis, and failure prediction.
Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows to support ML model deployment.
Ensure data integrity and quality by integrating and testing datasets from varied sources.
Collaborate with AI/ML scientists to support model development, testing, and deployment.
Integrate QA automation with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Tekton, Azure DevOps).
Use tools such as Kubeflow, MLFlow, Apache Spark, Airflow, or Databricks to manage ML infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and optimize performance and costs.
Lead QA practices and mentor QA, ML, and Software Engineers on methodologies and tooling.
Maintain compliance with internal best practices and security standards.
What Qualifications You Need
Bachelors degree and at least 4 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, software engineering, or data engineering.
3+ years of experience with SQL and one or more of the following: Python, C/C++, Java, Scala, Spark.
Experience building and validating automation frameworks for AI/ML systems.
Strong understanding of software QA methodologies and automation tools.
Demonstrated success establishing key internal/external relationships and collaborating within matrixed environments.
Strong problem-solving skills, with experience debugging and resolving complex QA issues.
At least 2 years of leadership or cross-functional project team experience.
Willingness to travel up to 10% for business purposes if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in a technical discipline.
Experience deploying ML models at scale using tools like Kubeflow or Seldon.
Familiarity with ML registries (e.g., MLFlow) and DAG-based orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
Deep knowledge of CI/CD processes and pipeline automation for ML and software deployments.
Experience integrating AI/ML testing into agile development environments.
Proven ability to define QA strategy and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Background in cost and performance optimization for distributed systems.
