Legend Biotech is seeking a Senior Accountant as part of the Finance team based in Somerset, NJ.

Role Overview

A Senior Accountant will oversee the accounting functions for our Belgium & other international entities, with a primary focus on Payroll, Treasury and comprehensive Financial Reporting. This position requires close collaboration with the Financial Reporting, Treasury, Payroll, Accounts Payables, and FP&A teams. Additionally, the role includes providing accounting support for other operating entities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Accounting and Reporting: Lead preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, and operating entity reporting packages. Ensure timely completion of the month-end close activities and the related deliverables in compliance with the month-end reporting calendar.
Analytics: Analyze financial data to identify key trends and provide insights into balance sheet and income statement fluctuations, supporting informed decision-making.
Payroll and Prepayments: Manage end-to-end payroll and prepayment processes, including recording, reconciliation, and oversight.
Cash: Record electronic bank transactions not automatically processed in SAP, ensuring proper FX conversion, accuracy, and timely resolution. Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations. Analyze and investigate cash reconciling items and discrepancies.
Intercompany Transactions: Coordinate intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Account Reconciliations: Lead timely and accurate preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring SOX compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and respond to changes in the business environment.
Internal controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and SOX compliance.
Audit Cooperation: Collaborate with external and internal auditors, timely deliver the financial information to third parties and regulators.
Ad Hoc Requests: Address ad hoc requests as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance is required
CPA License/Certification is a plus
4+ years of experience in accounting function in the biopharmaceutical/ medical devices industry or large corporation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with SAP is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Cooperation and collaboration spirit
Fluent oral communication, reading and writing skill in English
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
Strength in communicating and working independently and effectively with broad stakeholders
Process-driven with strong analytical judgment for risk identification and mitigation.

The anticipated base pay range is:

$81,273-$106,669 USD
