The hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $17.00 - $17.50 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

The Scotts MiracleGro Company in Marysville Ohio is seeking qualified/motivated individuals to join our Corporate Services Team as a Grounds Maintenance Technician.

What you'll do in this role:

This position is for a person to support our Landscape Services Crew while developing their own skills at our World Headquarters and R&D grounds located in Marysville Ohio. This position will have the opportunity to learn skills and implement them while maintaining high quality grounds maintenance standards in the following areas:

  • Irrigation
  • Priority lawns and landscapes
  • R&D lawns, plots, beds and other research areas
  • Interior plantscapes
  • Aquatic ponds and streams
  • Control product application
  • Equipment repair and maintenance

Typical tasks include but are not limited to: Irrigation systems, daily service and repairs, operation and troubleshooting, coordination with research associate's needs, help with programming irrigation controllers, mowing, edging & trimming, foliage/plant care, tree & shrub removal, mowing and trimming R&D lawns, plots, beds, and all other research areas, irrigation scheduling, assisting in maintaining indoor plants throughout multiple buildings on site, prune, water and change out plants, maintaining waterways for general cleanliness, drainage, and irrigation usage.

Perform periodic applications of control products including fungicides, insecticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Practice required safety protocols when handling, applying and storing control products. Perform required ODA record keeping of all applications. Perform daily maintenance checks and safety verifications on equipment in use.

Education & Experience: Working towards a High School Graduate, Vocational or Degree in Turf/Landscape/Agriculture Technologies or similar. Prefer a minimum 2 years experience working in landscape, irrigation, golf course, lawn care, agriculture or similar. ODA Licensed Pesticide Applicator we can help you work towards getting a license.
