Description: Boston Public Schools seeks an experienced, highly qualified, and knowledgeable school librarian to join our community of learners and leaders. Reports to: Principal/Head of Schools
Responsibilities:
Support students and staff in becoming critical thinkers and effective users, evaluators, and creators of information.
Create a caring, equitable environment with access to the library’s physical and digital collections.
Collaborate and co-teach with colleagues to support curriculum through information literacy and diverse, culturally responsive texts.
Oversee the physical and digital collection, including equity audits, maintenance, selection, development, and organization.
Provide resources supporting curriculum, current events, and school and community culture.
Communicate library resources and programs to staff and families.
Foster a love of reading and stories among students.

Qualifications - Required:
Hold a Bachelor's degree.
Valid Massachusetts School Librarian/Library License (All Levels).
Meet all state and federal licensing and qualification standards.
Ability to meet Boston Public Schools’ Standards of Effective Teaching.
Current authorization to work in the U.S.
Qualifications - Preferred:
Fluency in one of BPS’s official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali is highly valued.
