Position Overview The Nurse Residency Program offers a comprehensive opportunity to provide direct and indirect patient care following the nursing process: Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. You will create individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, while expertly communicating changes in patient conditions. Key Responsibilities Maintain nursing care standards and adhere to hospital policies. Directly supervise and evaluate the nursing care given to patients. Assign tasks based on patient needs and staff qualifications. Document patient assessments, care plans, and other critical information in medical records comprehensively. Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission and ongoing reassessments. Collaborate with other disciplines for holistic patient care. Administer medications accurately while focusing on patient safety protocols. Formulate and implement teaching plans based on identified patient and family needs. Help physicians with examinations and procedures requiring nursing skills within your scope of practice. Respectfully address the psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Perform all patient care duties prioritizing safety and reducing the chance of errors. Engage with patients and families during care planning to promote involvement. Work well with all team members and maintain effective communication. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program. Active state licensure as a Registered Nurse. Current BCLS certification; ACLS certification preferred. At least six months of experience in a Medical/Surgical acute care setting is preferred.
