Schedule: Nights (3x12) 6:45PM 7:15AM
As a Registered Nurse in our Maternity Care Center, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive, compassionate care to patients throughout their childbirth journeyfrom antepartum through postpartum, including active labor and delivery. Key Responsibilities:
Labor & Delivery:
Monitor labor progression, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs.
Assist obstetricians and midwives with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
Perform immediate newborn assessments including Apgar scoring and initiation of breastfeeding.
Provide emotional and physical support to laboring patients and their families during delivery.
Antepartum & Postpartum Care:
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to expectant mothers experiencing complications but not in active labor.
Provide postpartum care, including assessment and monitoring of mothers after birth.
Support and educate mothers on breastfeeding, recovery, and newborn care.
Assist with basic newborn care and ensure a safe transition for both mother and baby.
General Nursing Duties:
Coordinate and manage care for assigned patients using clinical judgment, nursing knowledge, and decision-making skills.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Utilize hospital resources efficiently, including staff, equipment, and supplies, to support patient care.
Maintain a positive, professional relationship with patients, families, and coworkers by demonstrating compassion, empathy, and respect.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (Diploma, Associates, or Bachelors Degree in Nursing).
Current and unrestricted RN license in the State of Georgia.
Previous experience in Labor & Delivery and/or Maternity Care strongly preferred.
BLS and NRP certifications required (or must be obtained within a designated time frame after hire).
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills.
