Join our specialized team providing remote education services to deaf and hard of hearing students across Kentucky's virtual school initiatives. We're seeking an experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher who excels in technology-enhanced learning environments. Position Structure
This remote opportunity offers 37.5 hours per week serving a focused caseload of 12-15 students spanning grades kindergarten through twelve. You'll provide specialized instruction through visual learning platforms while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with families, interpreters, and educational teams. Teaching Responsibilities
Deliver direct instruction in academic subjects using visual teaching strategies and ASL
Develop and implement individualized education programs targeting language development and academic skills
Provide specialized support in reading, writing, mathematics, and social communication
Collaborate with audiologists, speech therapists, and interpreters to coordinate comprehensive services
Facilitate virtual parent education sessions and family communication training
Adapt curriculum materials for visual learning and deaf cultural perspectives
Maintain detailed progress monitoring and assessment documentation
Student Population Specialization
Your caseload will include students with varying degrees of hearing loss requiring visual instruction methods, students using hearing aids or cochlear implants needing auditory training support, and students from deaf families requiring culturally responsive education approaches. You'll work across all grade levels, adapting instruction for individual communication needs and learning styles. Required Credentials
Master's degree in Deaf Education, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or related field
Valid Kentucky Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing license
Minimum two years of direct experience teaching deaf and hard of hearing students in educational settings
Fluency in American Sign Language and demonstrated visual teaching competencies
Proficiency with assistive listening technology and visual learning platforms
Strong knowledge of deaf culture, language development, and auditory considerations
Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and families
