We are seeking an Employment Law Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a range of employment law issues, including but not limited to wage and hour disputes, workplace discrimination, wrongful termination, and labor law compliance. This position will involve working closely with our clients to provide strategic counsel, litigation support, and policy implementation guidance.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients, such as pleadings, briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements.
2. Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in the employment context, including compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
3. Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of employment law topics.
4. Negotiate settlements for legal disputes in a manner that best represents the client's interests.
5. Participate in business development efforts, including networking events, client seminars, and proposal development.
6. Stay updated on new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting employment law to provide the most current advice to clients.
7. Collaborate with team members to devise effective litigation strategies.
8. Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
9. Attend in person depositions.
10.Attend client preparation meetings.
11. Second chairing trials.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Possess a valid license to practice law in Alabama (AL)
3. 2+ years of federal employment law experience (including clerkship for a federal or appellate judge).
4. Exceptional legal writing skills, with a proven ability to draft clear, concise, and effective legal documents.
5. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes favorably for clients.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively counsel clients and build relationships with colleagues.
7. Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
11. Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.
12. Ability to attend in person meetings
