Begins development of a perioperative plan of care including specimen collection, pre-op tests ordered the day of procedure as well as other medical care treatments. Completes thorough pre-operative admission assessment. Documents patient interventions. Administered medications as ordered. Review pre-op charts. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care. Communicates with anesthesia, surgeons, surgeon's offices to assure patients are at optimal state prior to surgery.. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family pre-operative education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Provides Phase II recovery. Minimum Qualifications: Must have an Associate's Degree in nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred. Must have an active RN License from Arizona or a compact license. Must have BLS and ACLS. PALS or obtain within 6 months of hire. Must have EKG exam at time of hire. Must have NIH Stroke Scale or obtain within 90 days of hire.
