Position Title: Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation Type: Temporary Shift: Days Overview: As a Registered Nurse in the Rehabilitation Unit, you will provide essential direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process aligned with the highest standards of practice. Reports to: Post Acute Director Classification: Non-exempt Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred; Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Licenses: Valid RN license to practice in Kentucky or a valid multistate license. Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; new employees with alternative BLS certification have 30 days to obtain the American Heart Association version. Key Skills: Strong critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Core Responsibilities: Administer medications, collect specimens, and deliver clinical treatments according to the care plan. Thoroughly document patient care activities. Monitor and communicate changes in patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility. Engage in collaboration across disciplines to facilitate seamless patient care, including transfers and discharges. Assess the educational needs of patients and families, providing tailored instruction based on specific circumstances. Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of each patient. Evaluate and adjust care plans based on health outcomes and standards, adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory standards. Coordinate care delivery within the Rehab Unit while addressing and resolving issues with the staff and nursing administration. This job description may evolve as necessary.
