FT PreOp PACU RN (Experienced in GI)
USPI Christus Cabrini Surgery Center is seeking an experienced FT Pre-Op PACU RN, preferably with GI experience, to join our team. Christus Cabrini Surgery Center is a fast paced surgery center environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery
Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
Assess patients’ post-operative condition
Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
Log and chart all findings in patient files
Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
Perform intervention duties during postoperative emergencies
Provide post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from conscious sedation, general anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care

Required Skills
Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in LA
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in Pre-OP/PACU
Experienced in providing post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from conscious sedation, general anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care
Previous experience in GI.
BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred and must be obtained within one year
Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
