Unit Description: Medical ICU (MICU) – Where Excellence Meets Compassion Step into the heart of critical care at our 21-bed Medical/Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where every shift is a chance to make a profound impact. As a MICU RN, you’ll be part of a high-performing, interdisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional care rooted in the latest evidence-based practices.
Complex Care, Advanced Skills In the MICU, you’ll care for some of the most critically ill patients in the region. Our diverse and high-acuity population includes individuals experiencing: Neurological emergencies
: Stroke, Seizures, Guillain-Barré (GB), TNK, Thrombectomies Cardiac crises
: Myocardial Infarction (MI), CHF, IABP, Impella, Cardiac Arrest, ECMO Pulmonary challenges
: COPD, ILD, PNA, COVID ICU Severe infections
: Sepsis, Septic Emboli Metabolic and toxicologic emergencies
: DKA, Overdose (OD), Liver Failure, Renal Failure Gastrointestinal bleeding
: GIB Advanced therapies
: CRRT, CDT End-of-life (EOL) care

Requirements:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
The University of Vermont Health Network is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.
Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
