The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Services Department is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. You will apply the nursing process to develop and implement personalized care plans for patients, ensuring effective communication with patients and their families. Collaborating with healthcare team members, you will deliver high-quality care while overseeing LPN practices as directed by the unit director.
Essential Functions:
Deliver nursing care tailored to the condition and needs of each patient.
Consult and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Establish, review, revise, and follow the patient care plan.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
Document patient care activities, including assessments, reassessments, and ongoing treatment notes.
Utilize various computer systems effectively.
Operate medical equipment essential for patient care.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment, diagnosis, medications, discharge, and self-care.
Ensure care aligns with nursing standards to promote safety and healing.
Oversee the practices of LPNs.
Perform unit-specific responsibilities as required.
Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and adapt swiftly to changing situations, functioning independently or as part of a team.
Non-Essential Functions:
Complete assigned educational requirements in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Fulfill departmental-specific educational obligations.
Organizational Expectations:
Actively engage in Foundation Safety Behavior Tools and Tactics such as Briefs, Debriefs, Huddles, Learning Board Activities, and Safety Rounds.
Provide effective mentoring.
Exhibit loyalty to absent team members.

Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Must possess an active RN license in Tennessee or a compact state license with the intent to obtain TN RN license within 30 days of hire.
Required Skills:
BLS - current or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
ACLS - current or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
PALS - current or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
NRP - current or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
STABLE - current or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
HWC (Handle With Care) - current or must obtain within 6 months from date of hire.
Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC) - preferred.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC) - preferred.
