Job Summary As a Registered Nurse in Emergency Care, you will provide comprehensive direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. You will collaborate on nursing care plans with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, effectively communicating with physicians and nursing supervisors regarding patient conditions. Your involvement in discharge planning will also play a critical role in patient care. Key Responsibilities Uphold nursing standards and implement the hospital's policies and regulations. Direct, supervise, and evaluate the nursing care provided to patients. Delegate tasks according to patient needs, potential harm, and staff capabilities. Document patient assessments and care plans in medical records thoroughly and accurately. Perform patient assessments upon admission and maintain regular reassessments. Develop and update nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and team members. Monitor and manage pain effectively while educating patients and families on pain management techniques. Adjust the care plan as needed based on patient progress and responses. Administer medications according to established safety practices and protocols. Support physicians during examinations and procedures, using appropriate technical skills. Respect and address the psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Provide effective communication with management, co-workers, and physicians. Participate in training and orientation for new staff members. Safely operate and manage medical equipment. Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a diploma in nursing from an accredited program. Licenses/Certifications: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. BCLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred. Experience: Preferred: Six months of experience in a Medical/Surgical acute care setting.
