Job Summary:
The Quality Operations Compliance Supervisors is responsible for working closely with the Operations team to help ensure clear understanding and compliance with all Quality requirements. This position involves supervising and developing Quality Assurance Technicians. The supervisor closely partners with the leaders of the Operations team and operators to assure that Quality compliance is met daily, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality standards.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks:
Work "on the floor" with the Operations team to ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and sanitation policies, standards, and procedures, and GMP
Supports the continuous improvement of the plant through 5S principles, plus analytical analysis including consolidation, trending, and communicating operations data trends and results
Participates 3rd party food safety and quality audits
Ensures that Quality related procedures are current and adhered to, through internal auditing, proficiency testing, etc.
Responsible for the review, tracking, and filing of all Process Deviations and Food Safety/Quality Incident Reports
Directs and coordinates the daily work activities of the Quality Assurance Compliance Technicians and the Quality Operations Compliance Auditor
Coordinates daily activities within the quality lab including retention and incubation pouch inspection, production record review, periodic lab equipment verifications, microbiological analysis, and sensory analysis
Coordinates plant hygiene programs such as GMP audits, environmental monitoring (microbial and hygiene), and pre-operations inspections
Conducts and supports Audits/inspections of equipment and overall cleanliness
Support the investigation of incidents and root cause analyses
Work with plant leadership to implement corrective action when necessary to eliminate recurrence
Validates that Quality related procedures are adhered to, through internal auditing, proficiency testing, and new operator training validations
Develop, implement, and sustain quality systems to meet SQF guidelines
Backup SQF Practitioner for the site
All other duties as assigned
Key Performance Indicator (KPI):
Tracks and reports Quality KPIs, including but not limited to:
Documentation error rates
Proficiency testing pass rates
Sensory participation
GMP monthly audit results
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
High School Diploma required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment is required
HACCP and GFSI Certification is preferred.
Leadership/Supervisory experience in a professional work environment is preferred.

Must have a passion for being on the plant floor and interacting with employees at all levels
Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, training, and coaching skills
Must quickly and effectively interpret information in order to reach sound conclusions
Must be able to challenge the status quo in a professional manner
Must have strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to communicate proficiently in English verbally and in writing (including email)
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office & ERP systems)
Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct audits
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able lift up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day and be on their feet for extended periods of time
Be able to work all shifts (primarily day shift)
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
