Location: Fairbanks, AK
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $22 – $28 per hour, depending on experience

TDL Staffing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist based in Fairbanks, Alaska. This role plays a vital part in procurement, vendor management, and administrative support within a utility company environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Adaptability, resilience, and maintaining a professional demeanor under pressure are important to successfully navigate changing situations and unforeseen challenges.
Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Purchasing Support:
Perform purchasing functions to procure goods and services; generate and manage purchase orders, solicit quotes, verify data and accounting codes, track shipping and delivery, issue POs, confirm receipts, and maintain documentation.
Invoice & Vendor Management:
Process and enter PO invoices for payment, maintain organized digital records, set up and maintain supplier/vendor information, update W9s, certificates of insurance, and payment details, negotiate with vendors, and resolve order or billing issues.
Fleet & Facility Coordination:
Manage DMV and DOT registrations for 100+ vehicles, perform monthly safety inspections, maintain insurance documentation, and assist with light building maintenance tasks.
Inventory & Administrative Support:
Support inventory management, maintain breakroom and janitorial supplies, assist with document filing and formatting, and provide general administrative assistance.
Event Planning & Coordination:
Assist with coordination and setup for employee and public events, appreciation celebrations, and company functions.
Audit & Compliance:
Support annual financial audits by gathering necessary information and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications: 2–3 years of prior experience as a Purchasing Agent or related procurement role preferred; equivalent education may be accepted in lieu of experience.
At least two years of experience performing clerical duties in a business office environment.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record preferred.
Knowledge of waterworks and general plumbing parts preferred but not essential.
Experience with cloud-based ERP software preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Effective digital file management skills.
Support a drug-free work environment.
