This position is located in the Northwest area of Houston, TX, and does offer a flexible schedule, but is not a remote/virtual/hybrid position.
Stress Engineering Services, Inc. is not an EPC company, so blanket RFQs WILL NOT be generated in most situations.
Responsibilities
• Purchase goods and services utilizing company procurement process and systems
• Track all issued orders from request through delivery, including delays or cancellations
• Negotiation with suppliers for best delivery and pricing
• Verification of Approved Supplier List (ASL) for quality assurance of supplier performance
• Assist with supplier audits to ensure acceptable levels of performance and quality
• Help personnel select suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency
• Communicate effectively with suppliers in varying types of industries
• Assist with shipping and receiving functions of parts and completed systems when necessary
• Gain basic knowledge of parts/tools used in routine designs and services
• Prioritize daily work and other duties as assigned with minimal supervision
• Cooperate with company personnel as needed with procurement-adjacent tasks
• Assist with enhancement of existing procedures for compliance with client requirements
• Overall, the successful candidate will be an active part of a team, adapting quickly in a fast-paced environment to enable a smooth procurement experience for the company and its suppliers
Qualifications
• Minimum of a High School diploma
• 3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Procurement
• Self-starter and able to work diligently without supervision
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and focus on detail
• Knowledge of an ERP system – Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
• Must be well-organized and have solid documentation skills
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Robust experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience with accounting processes related to procurement
• Perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact with others productively
