We are seeking a Senior Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy, vision, and execution of the OCI Data Services platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with databases and building data services on major cloud providers. This product leader will define major aspects of OCI Data Services and collaborate closely with engineering, architects, field teams, customers, and partners to shape the vision, gather requirements, and execute the data platform's roadmap. The candidate will use a deep understanding of both business and technology to make data-driven decisions, prioritize investments, articulate strategic priorities, influence cross-functional teams, and champion OCI's leadership in the Data and AI ecosystem. The Product Manager will work closely with Oracle field teams, partners, and key customers to drive adoption and growth of OCI Data Services.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Prioritization and Execution: Choose and prioritize investments using data-driven decision-making, leveraging metrics, customer feedback, and market analysis to maximize business and customer value. Provide detailed technical requirements for the platform development team. Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality OCI Data Services portfolio.
Define Personas: Articulate the needs of database admins and developers using OCI Data Services, ensuring the platform delivers intuitive, high-impact solutions.
Engage with Customers and Partners: Work closely with OCI customers, partners, and developer communities to understand their needs, validate solutions, and drive adoption of OCI Data Services.
Drive Adoption and Growth: Collaborate with Oracle field sales and marketing teams to drive service adoption and revenue growth for the OCI Data Services portfolio. Run growth and enablement initiatives, and build technical collateral and demos to facilitate sales and efficient onboarding of customers.
Act as Subject Matter Expert: Leverage deep open-source and database expertise, technical depth, and past experience in data services to articulate critical requirements, prioritize features, and guide engineering to deliver solutions across the data platform.
Influence Executives: Communicate complex technical and business concepts with clarity and executive presence, driving alignment across senior stakeholders.
Shape Industry Trends: Stay abreast of and hands-on with emerging data services trends and technologies. Represent OCI as a thought leader in open-source data products, contributing to industry forums, conferences, and publications.
Mentor Product Managers: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior product managers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Qualifications:
8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on data platforms and services.
Experience building data platforms and launching features and cloud services to production.
Deep understanding of state-of-the-art OLTP technologies and/or analytics platforms, cloud services, and open-source databases.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate concisely and persuasively to executives and technical audiences.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data services capabilities into real-world applications.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience deploying cloud data services in large-scale enterprise environments.
Familiarity with cloud-based data services and enterprise applications.
Technical background (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) preferred.
Passion for innovation, familiarity with AI technologies, and an interest in staying ahead of cloud data services trends.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $115,400 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
