The Role | Generalist Engineer Sauron Industries is looking to create a new modality for homeowners to interact with their properties and security systems, based on a 3D model of the home in a beautiful app for iPad and iPhone. We are looking for a highly skilled, thoughtful, and collaborative Software Engineer to help design, develop and deliver this to a wide user base. We are looking for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, and cares deeply about the user experience. The ideal candidate is strategic about building for the long run, and enjoys the process of collaborating with teammates to architect reliable, scalable and maintainable applications. You’ll solve challenging problems and provide input into both product roadmaps and development approaches. We Value Collaboration, pair programming, and teamwork.
Making small improvements and shipping code to production continuously.

Iterative development and refactoring regularly to keep our codebases healthy.
You Will Contribute By Designing and developing performant and scalable end-to-end user facing systems.
Building secure, user-facing features and APIs with high reliability and low latency.
Building security-first systems for mass consumption.
Working closely with designers and AI engineers to continuously improve on the user experience.
Iterating quickly on prototypes and shipping polished features to production.
Your Background Includes BS Computer Science + 3 years of industry experience or MS Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and trainings
Proficiency in Python for backend development
Building and maintaining end-user applications using React (web) and SwiftUI (iOS).
Developing and scaling backend services using Python, leveraging both RESTful APIs.
Creating internal tools and debugging utilities using Python or JavaScript to visualize and interact with complex pipelines.
Comfort working with RESTful APIs, and real-time protocols like WebSocket.
Contributing to and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable deployment.
Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with designers, product owners, and engineers in other domains.
Nice to Have (familiarity with/desire to learn) Exposure to 3D graphics libraries (Unity, Unreal Engine, OpenGL, Metal).
Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks and deployment automation.
Knowledge of video streaming solutions.
