Our Minneapolis office is seeking a Principal Consultant to join our Data & Analytics practice. This leadership role supports business development, leads client engagements, designs data & AI solutions, and manages a high-performance team of architects, data engineers, data scientists, and analytics engineers. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Solve client business problems by developing data strategies, architecting data & AI solutions, recommending forward-looking technologies, and leading the implementation of data & analytics solutions. Thought Leadership: Share ideas about technological advancements with internal and external communities by speaking at industry conferences, performing TED Talks, hosting meetups, and coordinating brainstorming sessions for open-source projects. Engagement Management: Influence client decision-makers for the acceptance of proposed technical solutions and lead delivery of client solutions, managing quality, risk, and financial health of client engagements. Practice Development: Assist in the growth of the practice area through development of points of view and thought articles, internal and external partnerships, and deepening client relationships by successfully managing a portfolio of projects across various clients. People Development: Recruit, lead, and coach consultants, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Business Development: Assist practice directors with business development by planning and leading client conversations, developing and presenting proposals, and enabling AIM Sales and Recruiting by sharing emerging trends in technologies and evolving client needs. Required Experience Consulting Experience: Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: demonstrated experience with leveraging industry-leading frameworks such as 5 Whys Analysis, Cause-and-Effect Analysis, First Principles Thinking, and the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle to solve complex problems. Project Delivery and Management: experience with successfully delivering and managing a portfolio of projects across various clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction by meeting contractual expectations. Innovative Solutions and Client Engagement: experience conducting discovery sessions including exploratory analysis of complex datasets to produce innovative solutions, elicit clear client business requirements, and develop compelling solution strategies. Proposal and Statement of Work Creation: Create and present proposals, and establish Statements of Work for client engagements, ensuring clear communication and alignment with client needs. Technical Experience: Experience in formulating data strategies, including definition and implementation of data governance frameworks, designing various data architecture patterns such as medallion, Lakehouse, and warehouse and developing implementation roadmaps. Demonstrated experience with evaluating and implementing a broad set of data, analytics, and AI technologies and tools spanning relational and non-relational databases, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data engineering, data visualization, and analytics. Background in software development using programming languages like SQL, Python, Java, R, or similar, with an understanding of cloud platforms and services across major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Fabric. Architecture design and leadership experience with designing and implementing low-latency data processing systems using data formats like Parquet, Iceberg, Delta Lake, and technologies such as Spark Streaming, Kafka, Flink, RabbitMQ. Solution design and delivery experience with advanced analytics and ML methodologies, tools, and platforms including Jupyter, SageMaker, AzureML, Databricks, Snowpark, and Generative AI solutions and platforms such as Azure Open AI, AWS Bedrock, Snowflake Cortex, Databricks, Glean, Vectara among others.
