FUNCTION: The Physical Therapist Assistant will implement individualized physical therapy programs that encompass assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication. The goal is to maximize each patient's progress toward achieving their functional goals, while fostering positive relationships with other healthcare professionals and support staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Below are the essential qualifications necessary for this role: Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of diverse age groups receiving services. Ability to stay calm during emergency or crisis situations. Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program. At least one year of experience working as a physical therapy aide. Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This role involves working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OTR) to help execute treatment plans. The following are key responsibilities: Deliver direct patient care, evaluate functional needs and outcomes, and collaborate with other specialists. Review and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Design and implement patient care plans based on comprehensive assessments, including input from significant others when appropriate. Conduct therapy practices in accordance with defined standards of care. Adhere to community policies and procedures regarding workplace safety, including infection control and emergency response protocols. Follow all company policies and procedures for resident rights, abuse prevention and reporting, and resident confidentiality (HIPAA). Demonstrate knowledge of the Employee Handbook and comply with its policies. Perform other related duties as assigned.
