River Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work per diem in our Pharmacy Department. Job PurposePharmacy Technicians work under the direct supervision of the pharmacist. Pharmacy Technicians provide non-clinical support services to the pharmacist by aiding in the distribution of medications, checking and replacing outdated medications, ordering pharmaceuticals, maintaining drug inventory, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy. Pharmacy Technicians will have job duties that align with NYS Board of Pharmacy rules and regulationsQualificationsEducation:•High School Diploma or equivalentExperience:•One year Health System or retail pharmacy experience required •Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Omnicell, McKesson ordering)•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment•Ability to work closely with people and in groups•Excellent communication skillsCertification:•Certification by the PTCB or NHA preferred Working conditionsMajority of work will take place within the pharmacy with intermittent trips to the nursing stations, medication rooms, clinic, Medical Office Building (MOB) and other various units. Certified Pharmacy Technician shift will take place during the hours a pharmacist is present.
