SUMMARY: The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position is a field employee position providing one-to-one and small group emotional support and behavioral interventions to children/adolescents in a school setting throughout Chester County, PA. We specialize in serving children primarily diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as other special needs diagnoses. Implement timely interventions focusing on behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and enhancing peer interaction skills, according to the goals outlined in the IEP or positive behavioral support plan set by Special Education team. Gather daily data and maintain progress notes in the designated format for each session with the child or adolescent. Offer direct assistance to students to fulfill their academic, social, emotional, and/or personal care requirements. Requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma OR equivalency Experience working with school aged children - preferred Experience with autism and / or other special needs - preferred Staff on assignment for West Chester Area School District must have a high school diploma and ability to complete a local assessment requirement OR Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits) CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS: (Clearances within 12 months) PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN TB Screening (within 3 months) Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts *Paid clearances & TB screening!
