What You'll Do:
- Work collaboratively with a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team to serve the growing needs of the regional pediatric population in Central Texas.
- Care for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease, in addition to heart failure/transplant/mechanical circulatory support patients.
- Participate in coordinated transport/intake efforts to a dedicated, 36 bed Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
- Engage in educational activities with medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Collaborate with medical and adjunct specialties to allow for the pursuit of innovative program development and clinical research initiatives.
- Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards for his/her specialty.
- Board certification or board eligible within two (2) years of completion of training.
- Has additional training in pediatric cardiac critical care (not required if dual boarded).
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment).
- Demonstrated leadership, clinical teaching ability, and communication skills.
- Must possess tenacity, self-motivation and initiative necessary to drive the development and maintenance of established and new programs.
- A track record of being able to lead, direct, and influence a team (regardless of reporting lines).
- Demonstrates behaviors of a team player.
- Eligible for appointment as an assistant professor or higher in the Department of Pediatrics.
