Our practice offers a full array of anesthesia services for Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center. This Macon, GA-based facility is recognized for excellence on a national level and is among the premier teaching hospitals in the United States. As the second-largest hospital in Georgia, it has 637 licensed beds for medical surgical, cardiac surgery, trauma treatment, and pediatrics. The facility has a Level I Trauma Center; a children’s hospital built in 2019; 34 operating rooms and several ancillary suites; and a stand-alone outpatient facility.

Case Assignments
General surgery, cardiac, pediatrics, OB and GYN services, ortho, trauma, plastics, ENT, urology, and neurosurgery.
Shifts
- Medical direction, 4:1 ratio
- Monday thru Friday 0700 until the cases are done (usually between 1500-1700 but could run longer)
- Call from when the cases are done until 0700 next day Monday thru Friday
- 24 hour beeper call on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Schedule is flexible and will be determined with other providers but no more than three weeks a month
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- ECFMG and FLEX
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Fellowship Trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology
- Currently licensed as a physician
