Description
Our practice offers a full array of anesthesia services for Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center. This Macon, GA-based facility is recognized for excellence on a national level and is among the premier teaching hospitals in the United States. As the second-largest hospital in Georgia, it has 637 licensed beds for medical surgical, cardiac surgery, trauma treatment, and pediatrics. The facility has a Level I Trauma Center; a children’s hospital built in 2019; 34 operating rooms and several ancillary suites; and a stand-alone outpatient facility.

Case Assignments
General surgery, cardiac, pediatrics, OB and GYN services, ortho, trauma, plastics, ENT, urology, and neurosurgery.
Shifts
Medical direction, 4:1 ratio
Monday thru Friday 0700 until the cases are done (usually between 1500-1700 but could run longer)
Call from when the cases are done until 0700 next day Monday thru Friday
24 hour beeper call on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
Schedule is flexible and will be determined with other providers but no more than three weeks a month
Requirements
Responsibilities
Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
Pre-anesthesia assessment
Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
ECFMG and FLEX
Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
Fellowship Trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology
Currently licensed as a physician
