Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative to work in hospital outpatient and emergency settings. The position involves fast-paced tasks such as data intake on computers, managing patient and insurance information, and providing empathetic support to patients while assisting with registration processes. Training will be offered, which makes this an ideal role for those looking to start a career in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Work on computers and phones to intake information in a busy environment. Handle multiple screens and programs, ensuring accurate data input. Assist clinicians during emergent care interruptions. Provide empathetic support to patients, asking follow-up questions and building rapport. Manage patient and insurance information, adapting to varied health plans and coverage. Register patients face-to-face using WOW or desktop, frequently rounding to assist/encourage patients to complete self-service technology. Quick registration under 3 minutes per patient, and complete full registration in 10 minutes. Achieve 90% patient self-service using mobile, pad, or pad assist technology. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Excellent customer service experience. Skills Ability to think quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with computers and multi-tasking between multiple programs. Additional Requirements
The role requires standing, quick decision-making, and adapting to a fast-paced work environment. Bi-weekly schedules will rotate, including weekend and holiday shifts.
