Position Overview:
As a Pathologists' Assistant at University Hospital, you will work alongside a team of expert pathologists and laboratory professionals, playing a critical role in the dissection, documentation, and diagnosis of a wide range of pathological specimens. This is a hands-on, highly specialized position in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that will allow you to use your skills and expertise to contribute to world-class patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform gross dissection of surgical specimens, including tissue biopsies, organ specimens, and lymph nodes.
Assist in autopsy procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and specimen collection.
Prepare, label, and maintain specimens for microscopic analysis by pathologists.
Collaborate with pathologists and lab technicians to ensure precise and timely diagnoses.
Ensure all work complies with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in education and training of pathology residents and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper safety and cleanliness protocols are followed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a biological or related science required.
Completion of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, pathology, and laboratory techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
