SUMMARY The position will be an Optometrist providing direct and comprehensive primary, preventive, and therapeutic optometric care to individuals across the spectrum of age and development. Proficient in computer programs and navigating a computer effectively Utilizes advanced optometric procedures and instrumentation to diagnose, treat, and manage ocular disorders and diseases. Orders diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies. Determines proper remedial alternative, discusses, and interprets findings with the patient. Provides patient and family education regarding ocular health issues. Evaluates, manages, and triages emergent non-surgical eye conditions. Collaborates with other optometrists, ophthalmologists, physicians, technicians, and administrators to facilitate care to meet common healthcare goals. Ensures preparation and completion of comprehensive medical records in a timely appropriate manner in compliance with applicable guidelines. Maintains clinical competence through continuing medical education, self-study, review of professional journals, and proficiency training. Provides emergency pm-call consultation and care as directed. Uphold all principles of confidentiality, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Outstanding organizational and time management skills Interact in an honest, trustworthy, and dependable manner with patients, employees, and vendors.
