The Optometric Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining an efficient patient flow by assisting the optometrist with essential pre-screenings and testing prior to examinations. This role is fundamental for conducting vital vision tests, enabling the optometrist to provide optimal care. No optical experience or certification is necessary as we offer training!
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional patient care.
Uphold a professional environment and appearance in the office.
Familiarize yourself with ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
Clearly explain preliminary examination procedures to patients.
Complete necessary paperwork and conduct tests on patients before the doctor's examination.
Encourage eligible patients to participate in visual field testing and retinal screenings.
Perform thorough exam pre-screening.
Review prescriptions and patient information diligently, consulting with the optician, doctor, or retail management as needed.
Ensure proper maintenance of all doctor's and pre-test equipment.
Are You the Right Fit?
Previous retail or optical experience is a plus, but not required.
