Job Summary: We are seeking a results-driven Operations Manager with experience in food manufacturing, packaging equipment, and turnaround situations. The ideal candidate will lead plant operations, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations while optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to transform underperforming operations into high-performing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the food manufacturing facility, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. Manage and optimize packaging equipment and processes to improve productivity and reduce waste. Develop and implement turnaround strategies to enhance operational performance, streamline workflows, and reduce downtime. Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Analyze production metrics and implement data-driven solutions to increase efficiency and meet key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain food safety standards, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, and HACCP requirements. Develop and manage budgets, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives to drive profitability. Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to optimize inventory management and production scheduling. Lead troubleshooting efforts for operational challenges, working with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues. Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations management within the food manufacturing industry. Strong expertise in packaging equipment, automation, and production line optimization. Proven track record in leading turnaround situations and improving underperforming facilities. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GMP standards. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and production management software.
