Up to 20 hours/week Wage/Salary: $ 21.55/hr Desired Employment Start Date: August 21st, 2025 Application Deadline: July 15th, 2025 About Early Childhood Education Center Our primary goal is to assist student parents attain their educational goals by providing appropriate care for their young children in a high-quality, convenient and affordable educational setting. Our educational philosophy draws upon a variety of educational approaches to support each childs optimum growth and development as well as make childrens learning visible. Position Details Under general direction of the Center Director and direct supervision of the ECEC Office Manager, the Office Assistant will perform a variety of tasks integral for the smooth operation of the Center and front desk. Essential Job Functions Safety Monitor the entry and exit of all adults and children Maintain daily enrollment records-ensure all children are signed-in/out Identify visitors, maintain the sign-in log and ask adults to wear a badge Sanitize front door & handles on a daily basis Clerical Serve as the Centers receptionist such as answering phones and assisting visitors Inform new clients of Center services and application process, and assist them with referrals General clerical tasks, data entry, copying, laminating, answering, faxing, filing, etc. Create and organize child, parent, and employee files Inventory and order office and custodial supplies as needed with various vendors on a weekly basis Assist in locating substitute teachers when a staff member is absent Data entry as assigned - using Microsoft and Google suite Safe usage and operation of office machinery (copy and fax machine, printer, laminating machines) Assist Director, Office Manager, Assistant Directors and Head Teachers with various tasks Maintain the Centers main calendar along with provide blank calendars to the family and conference rooms Fill out check requisitions for all accounts payable In the absence of the Office Manager the Office Assistant will reconcile the credit card purchases with receiving records and the credit card bill Physical Accept, prep and assist with snack/lunch distribution Date stamp and distribute mail/packages to appropriate personnel Maintain a clean and organized lobby Sweep and clean patio and entrance way of lobby on a daily basis Clear staff lounge counters on a daily basis prior to Center opening Assist Assistant Directors with Center opening/closing procedures Additional Duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledge of basic Microsoft Word and Excel XP preferred but not necessary Must be organized, able to prioritize, multi-task and take initiative in a busy, central workstation Must be able to take directions and execute them Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Must be able to remember the names of and interact with children and parents of a wide variety of ages Must be able to work effectively in high-stress situations. Work Environment Workstation is in the lobby of the AS Early Childhood Education Center a campus-based, indoor-outdoor childcare facility serving 100 children and their families on a daily basis and who range in age between 4 months and 5 years. Physical Effort Hearing and speaking to exchange information with parents, staff and children Bending at the waist for lifting supplies and/or children weighing up to 50 pounds Move quickly and easily from sitting to standing and visual scanning of everyone entering or exiting the facility.
