Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is preferred with some in the last 24 months.

• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

• AS completion required

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Block Schedules: No

RTO policy: Typically can approve max of 1 of 3 major holidays off.

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30), Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Weekend: Variable based on unit need

Can do 13 wks, or up to 1/17 end date.

Manager preference is to end 1/3, 1/10 or 1/17 to assist with holiday coverage.

Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 Request

Oncology experience preferred but not required

Float Required: To other MedSurg Oncology units

Orientation Hours: 72

Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics

Daily Census: 36

The majority of patients served on 19 James are admitted with the following patient care needs:

• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration

• Soft tissue malignancy receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy and symptom management.

• Symptom management secondary to disease related treatment or progression.

-Management of comorbidities.

-Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.

Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Patient Diagnoses: The most common diagnoses include all subtypes of the following:

1) Breast Cancer

2) Lung Cancer

3) Prostate Cancer

4) Pancreatic Cancer

5) Colon Cancer

6) Esophageal Cancer

7) Sickle Cell Crises

8) Encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

No set schedule, no set weekend, no block schedule, the facility determines the complete schedule (could possibly end up working every weekend). must be flexible.

Skill Required:

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more.
