Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Medical Billing Specialist***.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required in medical billing support.

This is a FULL TIME/TEMP TO HIRE position requiring availability between the hours of 8:00 AM-5 PM, Monday through Friday, located in Norfolk, VA (23502).

Responsibilities :
A Day in the life of a Medical Billing Specialist :

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will work to ensure the office and ASC records for patients include all information required for reimbursement. verifies correct coding to ensure prompt payment. Verify correct billing information and transmit electronically to the carrier. Consult with the claims clerk about any disputed claims and follow up on all bills not processed within the usual claim period. Reviews remittance advice forms to determine any adjustments made to bills as submitted and consults with the office. Prepares weekly and monthly reports of billing for the office as requested. Attends training to keep abreast of changes in billing procedures. Phone duty on rotation with other billing staff. And any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization's values.

Requirements for the Medical Billing Specialist :

• Required: 2+ years working in a medical billing support position
• Required: Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and claim management experience
• Required: Customer service experience
• Required: Ability to prioritize with attention to detail
• Required: Professional verbal communication skills
• Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multitask with accuracy in a very busy environment

Preferred Qualifications for the Medical Billing Specialist :

• Preferred: CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
• Preferred: Athena Health experience
• Preferred: Flexibility in task and project assignments
• Preferred: Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills

Benefits:

• $18.00-$20.00 an hour (depending on experience level)
