What You'll Do
As a Mechanical Engineer at IFS will collaborate with teams inside IFS to develop innovative solutions that advance product lines through enhanced controls, safety, and efficiency. The Mechanical Engineer develops new and existing equipment designs through innovation, peer review, and best practices in engineering. The Mechanical Engineer will oversee the product development timeline and review change requests from customer service, manufacturing, and sales.
You'll be a key player in:
Innovating & Designing: Developing and refining mechanical designs for liquid filling, capping, and labeling equipment, integrating electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems. This includes both sustaining existing product lines and contributing to cutting-edge R&D.
Project Leadership: Overseeing product development timelines, managing change requests, and ensuring seamless execution from design to fabrication. You'll work closely with third-party vendors and internal teams like production, quality, and manufacturing to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
Technical Analysis: Performing critical calculations (e.g., fluid flow, energy analysis), conducting FMECA and FEA reviews, and validating designs to meet precise specifications and safety standards.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partnering with sales, controls engineers, machinists, and assembly teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the entire build, test, and install process.
Specializing: Gaining deep expertise in liquid filling methodologies, cap application, labeling, and the complex kinematics of bottling lines. You'll also integrate servo and robotic applications into new initiatives.
Team Driven: Assist Technical Writer and Customer Service to provide operator information and assist with solutions of any issues a customer may have.

What You'll Bring
Required Skills & Abilities:
· Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
· Proficiency in CAD software, specifically AutoCAD (2024) and Inventor (2024), including Vault experience.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
· Ability to work closely with internal departments and external vendors
· Work independently under limited supervision
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
· Related experience in mechanical design, within industrial automation or packaging machinery, prefered.
· Demonstrated experience with pneumatic and servo motion control systems.
· Experience in fluid dynamics is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to access and inspect all areas of machinery.
