Mechanical Designer
Location: Downtown Lexington, KY (Hybrid Schedule)
About the Role
We’re hiring a Mechanical Designer to support pipeline design and construction projects across the energy sector—including CO₂ systems, production wells, and fracking wells. You’ll work directly with project managers and engineers to transform design concepts into detailed, constructible drawing packages. This role offers a mix of technical challenge, collaboration, and flexibility in a consulting environment.
Responsibilities
Interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, specifications, and equipment requirements
Design mechanical equipment and piping systems using CAD 3D modeling tools
Review vendor equipment drawings and provide feedback
Collect field data via 3D scanning or manual measurements
Generate as-built 3D models from point cloud data
Produce drawing packages including site plans, piping layouts, isometrics, and support details
Ensure compliance with codes, client standards, and industry best practices
Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines throughout the design process
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
1+ years of mechanical design experience using SolidWorks, Inventor, CadWorx, or Plant3D
Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling
Experience in piping design and mechanical drafting
Willingness to learn new design software and contribute to civil design work
Comfortable conducting occasional site visits (1–3 trips per year)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr.
