Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanic to join our team in Sylacauga, AL. This role is responsible for the service and repair of a wide range of equipment, including earth-moving machinery, diesel engines, electric power generators, lift trucks, and other related products. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and an enthusiasm for customer service and teamwork. This position requires both independent work and collaboration with a team. Candidates must supply their own hand tools. Duties and Responsibilities Perform minor repairs using proper tools and procedures. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems, using diagnostic tools as needed. Conduct Preventive Maintenance (PM) services in accordance with factory specifications. Disassemble, repair, and reassemble basic components such as engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems. Properly order and return parts in a timely fashion. Utilize service information systems accurately. Adhere to all safety policies, regulations, and procedures. Work independently on customer job sites when required. Replace defective components as directed. Conduct facility maintenance as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Communicate with customers to assess issues and determine repair solutions. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum Experience At least 1 year of experience in mechanical repair or a combination of technical education and experience. Basic computer literacy and typing skills are required. Skills and Competencies Intermediate knowledge of engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose and repair with minimal supervision. Proficiency in using diagnostic software and service systems. Experience with Dossier Fleet Maintenance software is a plus (training available). Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to safety and compliance. Working Conditions Work is conducted both in-shop and on-site at customer locations. Exposure to varying weather conditions and physical risks associated with heavy equipment repair. Prolonged periods of standing on hard surfaces may be required.
